British citizenship for family

Hello Dear gurus and members of this forum,

I have been a silent reader of this forum for many years. It was really helpful.

I am from a non EU country. I received my ILR based on long residence in 2019. Just a few days ago, I became British by naturalisation. My wife received her ILR based on lond residence in October 2020. My 13-year old daughter (born abroad) received her ILR in October 2020 (she has lived here in the UK since 2012).

I am trying to apply for my wife and daughter's British citizenship applications. I am bit confused which one to apply for them.

In terms of my wife, she can apply as a spouse of a British person as she has lived here more than 3 years.
1) Can we include our daughter onto her naturalisation application as a spouse of a British person?
2) Or do we have to apply separtely for our daugher? MN 3(1)?

3) It says on MN 3(1) :
Where one or both parents are applying for British citizenship they may apply for
one or more children who are not automatically British at birth (see “Automatic
acquisition of British citizenship” above) to be registered as British citizens as part of
a “family application”.

How can we submit a family application?

4) I have not received my British passport. Can we use my naturalisation certificate for their application?

I would like to thank you very much for your attention.

Kind regards,

Denis

Your wife (naturalisation in her case) and daughter (registration in her case) both can apply for British Citizenship now.

Your wife can start the AN application and create ONE account. She will fill her form first. Obviously given she meets all the AN requirements.

The same account will let you add family members. Add your daughter as “Child below 18” then. The form will adapt to Form MN1 automatically in your child’s case.

Your wife will naturalise as per Section 6(2) BNA 1981 being married to a British Citizen. A copy of your naturalisation certificate is enough. No need for a British Passport.

For your child, guidance:

However as mentioned in my previous post both your wife and child can apply in the same account.
