Hope everyone is well. I have a question how long does it take for first child British passport after the interview is conducted for overseas application (India).

I am British by naturalisation. I have a son born in india, New Delhi in aug 2020. I applied for his British passport in October 2020. Submitted all the necessary documents in New Delhi VFS centre where they were checked, verified, stamped then posted to Liverpool passport office. I was then advised to submit more documents for e.g. wife birth certificate on 3 feb 2021, which I submitted. I then received email to book an interview, which was conducted on 29/03/2021.

I am worried for my Childs safety as my 8 month old son is in New Delhi,India at the moment with my wife and the situation there is devastating because of second wave of Covid-19. Please help if you know how long does it take for passport office to issue child passport after the interview or if there is anything else I can do.

It can take 6 months - 1 year. However, you may write to Liverpool office and request to expedite the case given covid situation in Delhi.

Hi Aman,
Can you please tell me how were you able to track your application. I have applied through VFS Mumbai for my first British passport but I am unable to find a way to track it. Any help WRT same is appreciated.
