Hi,

I have some queries regarding on UK Citizenship eligibility for Kids

Current my Naturalisation is in process and now in the stage it got approved by saying to book cermony from my local council. I have sent my details to council and waiting from them for the slots.

Currently my kids who are indian born and they are in ILR from past 7 months.

So I want to find when my kids will be eligible for citizenship will it be when they complete 12 months on ILR or even now they can apply?

or when my oath is completed they I can then apply for kids?

The other parent is on ILR

The children could have applied for registration with your naturalisation application.

Your wife (assuming she meets the other requirements) and your children can now apply for their British citizenship any time after your citizenship ceremony.

Many thanks for your reply. So I cant apply for them until my oth is completed or till I get my british passport? As my wife wont be changing the citizenship for some time.

I am asking this becuase my kids Indian passport expires so just thinking If I can apply them sooner? Hopefully they dont take need to do oath right?

My bad I should have done with my application which I dont know at that time.

Also my last question we want to shorten my kids name as it is big so that will be name change. So can I do name change during citizenship application process or only after they get first british passport?
