Naturalisation

Hi,

I would be grateful if Someone can shed some light with regards to the processing time of the Naturalisation application. I have filed the application on 19.01.21 Biometric appointment attended on 11.02.2021 however I am still waiting. I am not sure of the actual processing time as my current passport has expired and I can see it would be challenging to show valid documents when it comes right to work.

Regards. :(

Could you not use the right to work checker [https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work] to share your eligibility with the employer?

It can take up to 6 months or more after submission to get a decision letter. Majority get a decision in 3-4 months though.

Then you have to wait another 3 months to get the invitation letter after approval. So that takes you to a minimum of 6-7 months.

After you receive the ceremony invitation, you have to book a ceremony within 21 days and have 6 months to attend one (even the 21 days rule is pretty flexible given corona). The councils may take another 1-3 months to offer a place. Overall the procedure to reach ceremony can take 6-10 months or more.

Stay patient and positive, its a long road ahead.

Could you kindly help with the info on how to update the change of address. Since I filed the application I have moved to a new address.

Hi I applied a few days after you, still awaiting a response too!
Typically seeing people applying one or two months later but have heard back already, stressful time, but good luck to us and those still waiting

I applied two weeks later than you and I am still waiting hard. I have to admit that waiting is a painful thing.

I clearly got a reply from my lawyer today. He said contacted HOME and said (my biometric date is 04/03/21, the date of submitting application is 07/02/21) and I got a reply saying that my waiting time is less than 6 month, I need to ask HOME after 04/09/21. I am confused. Please help me to get the answer.

Can anyone tell me why has it taken this long to get a decision on my naturalization application? I gave my biometric on 11th Feb 21 I am still waiting. I have emailed them twice all I got is a standard reply saying This
(I can confirm that your application is in the process and that decisions on applications are usually made within six months.

I am sorry if your application is taking longer than usual to be processed. As you may be aware, naturalisation is not an automatic process, and we have to make a number of enquiries to ensure that applicants can satisfy the statutory requirements. Some of these enquiries are carried out by external agencies on our behalf and can sometimes take longer than six months to complete.

The Home Office will endeavour to process applications as quickly as possible but in the current circumstances, applications will take longer than normal to process, including applications for British Citizenship)

can anyone give some details to the above reasons, please?
