Dear All ,
Please help me
I have been living in the UK since April 2014.
I received My ILR .

My ILR starts on 29 Jan 2020 and ends on 31 December 2024.
I applied for British Citizenship on 27 Feb 2021after 1 year of ILR .
I have a police caution issued on 28 Jan 2019.

My application for citizenship has been refused ,

The reason mentioned is as follows ,
You have not met this requirement because of:
Criminality
You were cautioned on 28th January 2019. Having considered your caution and in the absence of any exceptional circumstances, I am not satisfied that the good character requirement is met.Having considered your caution and in the absence of any exceptional circumstances ,I am not satisfied that the good character requirement is met.

And when I submitted my application I submitted the standard requirements only and no supporting documentation .
Although when I submitted my ILR I wrote a letter stating the reasons why I accepted a caution which I
Did not do it when I submitted my Citizenship application.

Please advise me what shall I do ? as I am shattered ,
The CW has not decided for my family, my 3 children and husband the decisions for them have not been undertaken as of yet.

I am the principal applicant and they were all my dependants so will they all be refused?

So,
My questions are
When should I apply?
Will I be refused forever ?
What options do I have from here to proceed?
Will my family be also refused? Eldest daughter is > 18 ,2 younger are less than 18

Thank you Haleema

You were advised in February 2020 to wait 3 years since the caution before you applied for citizenship. You seem to have chosen to ignore the advice you were given.

british-citizenship/citizenship-t297298.html#p1878865

Also, there is no dependent aspect for citizenship. Each person applying must meet the requirements individually.

Yes It seems that I have ignored the advice, as If I overlooked.
So what shall I do ?
Wait for 1 more year and make a new application ?
Can you suggest some examples to support my character ,please as well.
Thank you

If your dependents hold ILR for 1year can apply separately if meet good character requirement should be granted nationality. In reconsideration you can raise the point that your dependents are of good character & so should be granted nationality. You shouldn't given up here as if you explain the caution (nature of it & mitigation circumstances ) and ask for discretion to be applied in your favour.Keep the fight on.

Dear All
Many thanks for your suggestion so please do correct me if I am wrong as what I understood from your reply is ,

Apply once the dependants have been holding ILR for 1 year which means I need to apply next year in 2022.

and moreover by that time it will be 3 years from my caution date of jan 2019.

Have I correctly understood please do reply for my reassurance ,Thank you
Haleema

Now that you did not heed to the advice below was also said to you::::

Wait 3 years after the caution before applying.

When you apply, don't forget to declare the caution. If you don't, it can trigger a refusal and you won't be able to apply for 10 years.
