Urgent - received British citizenship today can I leave the country

Hi all,

I have finally received British citizenship today. I'm Australian and have the Australian passport.

I'm meant to be going to Croatia on July 12th, however I feel like I have shot myself in the foot. Do I need to have a British passport now to come back into the UK after the 2weeks away in Croatia?

I find it hard to believe that I'm stuck here now and can't leave till I get a UK passport?

Is there a way to get around this? Can I come.bsck in on my Australian passport?

Thanks.

Unclear if you have received an approval letter or have attended your ceremony. It makes a difference to the answer.

You should have postponed your ceremony till after your trip.

Travel with your certificate and foreign passport but you must send your brp card back within 5 days after your ceremony.

Ok thanks.

What is the worst that can happen? Could i be sent back to Australia?

What is likely to happen?

Can I get my UK first passport fast tracked before the 12th of July?

1. No.

2. Nothing, some questioning and checks when you return. Present passport and cert or use the e-gates.

3. No. There is no fast track service for a first adult passport.
