Naturalisation as a refugee with a British spouse

Hi,

I arrived to the UK as a refugee in 2015, and upon the end of my 5 years refugee leave I applied for an ILR which was approved & I got my ILR card that states (Refugee settlement).

The catch is: I was told that since I was married to a British citizen, I dont need to wait a whole year after my ILR to apply for a citizenship and that I can apply immediately!

I applied to citizenship on 15/03/2021 and got my biometrics taken on 1/4/2021.

A couple of days ago, I was told by someone that the no year wait doesn't apply to my case which made me rather worried. Can anyone please tell me if that's true?

Also, if my application was refused, will I get a 10 years ban?

Thank you.

As spouse of a British citizen you can apply immediately once BRP received - there would be no 12 months wait time.
Tell "someone" that they are not correct if they told you otherwise.

Thank you for the reassurance mate!

If I remember correctly, he said that my BRP card should say: (Spouse Settlement).

I'm glad it's otherwise!!

For naturalisation it is irrelevant which route was taken for ILR.
