Referees needed for citizenship with settled status?

Hi all,
I just got confirmation about my settle status under the EU Settlement Scheme, I got pre-settled status in 2019.
I´m planning to get British Citizenship and I have heard about needing to provide two referees, but I´m reading the information available and there is no mention about referees for settle status:
https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-in ... -to-remain
It says something about "be of good character - read the naturalisation guidance", but the link has no mention about referees:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... _final.pdf
Anybody knows if referees are still needed? Thanks for your help.

All applications for citizenship require two referees, with no exceptions.

Are you married to a British citizen? How long have you lived in the UK?

5,5 years in UK and single.
The document on your link was published on 19 February 2021, the one I found has date July 2021:

That´s why I´m asking, looks like the EU settlement scheme has lowered the requirements.

An immigration status, Settled Status, doesn't lower the requirements for the naturalisation application in any way.
All applicants are required to submit with their application two referee declarations. When you apply online the system will prompt you about referees and provide the templates.

No it has not. The EU settlement scheme rules has absolutely nothing to do with the citizenship laws. Two completely separate process, rules and requirements.
The link I have posted is the policy document with all the requirements and qualifying referee professions on page 24. Your link is the form AN guide/booklet. They are two different documents.
You also need to wait 12 months on settled status before you can apply for citizenship.

Many thanks for the clarification.
