grandparents document requirement for passport of new born baby

Hi
I am applying for British passport of my new born daughter and the application says to submit below documents for Grandparents:
Maternal Grandparents:
Birth certificate
Marriage certificate
Paternal Grandparents:
Birth certificate
Marriage certificate
My situation : I and my wife we both are Indian national, but I already got ILR via TIER-2 PBS route, my wife is still on PBS Dependant. Baby was born in the UK and I got ILR before baby was born.
Question : Are the grandparents document mandatory ? Both maternal and paternal grandparents lives in India and getting their birth certificate and marriage certificate will be very difficult ?
