I am a dual citizen American and British, can I enter England with my American passport and just show my British naturalization certificate at the immigration?

Presumably you don't have a British passport. By all means take your certificate - it will probably take extra time at the border control until they have examined your status - but essentially you cannot be refused entry to the UK.
