Hi,
I have applied for naturalisation, submitted form and paid fee. In the end, it says to book an appointment for biometric by mid of October.
However my passport is with DVLA for driving license purpose and I have heard that they are taking 8 to 10 months to process applicaton, so I might not get my passport back by October.
I am worried and not sure what to do.
Its huge amount of application fee and I would not like to loose it or get my application rejected.
Please help.
Thanks.

Not clear why you would apply without your passport ....
You can cancel your application - if done before the biometrics you should receive back most of your fee,
Check this link: https://www.gov.uk/cancel-visa

I didn't think that there would be limit to attend an appontmnet. I thought i will book when I get my passport.

Is there no way to extend this date? Pause application?
Thanks.

I believe you have to attend your biometric meeting within two months of application., otherwise the application will be invalid. Again you may receive back most of your fees.
