Hi there,

I am preparing for my citizenship application and I have a question.

I have read the Citizenship FAQs and I am wondering in particular about travel outside of the UK after submitting my citizenship application (I am a non-EU citizen, with Indefinite Leave to Remain, obtained nearly 12 months ago).

The answer in the FAQ says: "If applied using NCS, you will be able to keep your original documents so you will be able to travel following the application. Do remember:
1. BRP enrollment is now required for citizenship applications as well, so bear that in mind when making travel plans."

I am confused about the BRP enrollment: what does it mean? I am asking this because as a non-EU citizen,I wouldn't be able to enter the UK without keeping the BRP card on me.

Many thanks in advance!

You are free to travel.

BRP enrollment is the UKCVAS appointment for finger prints and photo and to confirm your identity.

NCS has been discontinued - you will be booking a biometric appointment with UKVCAS once you have submitted/paid your application. Appointment availability could be within days or weeks - suggest you only travel after you had your appointment.
I am confused about the BRP enrollment: what does it mean? Photo/Fingerprints and identity confirmation. Not connected with your existing BRP.I am asking this because as a non-EU citizen,I wouldn't be able to enter the UK without keeping the BRP card on me.
You will keep your existing BRP and all other documents - you only upload scans on the application system.
Many thanks in advance!
