Hi,
I am applying for my children who were born outside the UK as British citizens.
we came to the UK in 2012 granted NTL, now I need to apply for my children only as I can't apply now because I don't have an English certificate or passed the life in the UK test.

Which category do I have to tick from the following

You were born outside the UK

1. Your parent is British by descent and lived in the UK or a British Overseas territory for at least 3 years before you were born
2. Your parent is British by descent and you and your parents (unless they are legally separated) are now living in the UK or a British Overseas territory
3. You were born on or after 13 January 2010 and your parent was serving in the UK armed forces
4. You were adopted abroad by British citizen parents
5. You were born before 1 July 2006 to a British father and your parents were not married
6. One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship
7. Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary

It is number 7 "other".

Note that children born abroad can only apply for citizenship when a parent also applies or is already British.

You cannot apply to register the children as British if neither parent is British or applying at the same time.

What is the immigration status of the other parent?

Thanks for replying, they both have No time limit status to stay in the UK however they can't apply at the same time as I mentioned they don't have an English language certificate either live in the UK test.
They applied for children who were born here in the UK ng they got it.

No they can't. The children born abroad will qualify to apply when either parent also applies

British citizenship is usually automatically passed down one generation to children born outside the UK. But your children will not automatically acquire citizenship if they're born outside the UK. If you're not automatically a citizen, you may be eligible to register for citizenship.

How do I register my child as a British citizen?

1. Complete the MN1 application form including two referees.
2. Show that one parent is either is British or has indefinite leave to remain.
3. Provide full UK Birth certificate showing both parents names.
4. Provide parent's passports.
5. Provide child's passport(s) if they have one.
6. Pay the Home Office fees (depending on the type of application).

As far I understand that there is a way to apply for the children ! AM I RIGHT??

The MN1 form is a form that applies to multiple different situations.

If a child were born in the UK and either one of its parents acquired ILR/NTL, the child has a right to register as a British citizen. That is why Point 3 above asks for a "full UK Birth certificate".

Registration for children born abroad is at discretion (i.e. it is not a right).

For children born abroad, either one of the parents must be a British citizen or applying to become one, as CR001 has already advised.

Alternatively, you need to give strong compelling compassionate reasons as to why the child should be registered in spite of not meeting the requirements.
