Hi
I am registering my 13 year old uk born child as british citizen on MN1 form. I got the consent for him to register as british citizen by myself and my wife. Since he is a 13 year old should I also get his consent too and he should sign the consent as well? - last section of the consent form?

Your child is actually the applicant - so nothing for him to consent to.

Sorry if it was not clear. There is a section in the consent form says Child's consent where they are making an application on their own behalf. Below this there is a space for them to write name and sign just like for mother and father section.

Should I get him do it as well. He is 13 year old.

No!! For children under 18, the parents sign on behalf of the child!

thanks
1. Can you pl advise if we should use consent form or write free style letter; as document list says a letter signed by both parents with address; consent form has no space given for address. ?
2. proof of parental responsibility is same as birth certificate showoing name of both parents.
