Can I book biometric enrolment right now?

I'm a non-EEA national and my ILR was issued on 11 Nov 2020. If I understand correctly, this means the soonest I can apply for naturalization is 11 Nov 2021.
I understand there may be a long wait for biometric enrolment, which worries me, because I have some travel planned in December, so I'd like to get it done ASAP.
Can I somehow book a biometric enrolment appointment right now, but finish the application in November when I'm eligible?
If I can't do this and can't find a biometric enrolment slot before my trip, can be application "expire" if I don't enroll it and wait until after my trip? Is there any advantage to even applying before my trip if I can't complete biometrics before it?
