Hi my partner os currently applying for naturalisation after getting the settled status for more than12 months. She is an EEA/EU citizen. There are few points she is unsure about.

1. Self assessment for self employed: Currenlty she is self employed for around 7months so has recently receieved an UTR but the self assessment cant be done before 12 months so what other documents can she provide to prove her self employment , would we need to contact an accountant?
2. Employment gaps: In her last 5 years my partner had around 3 occasions where there was an employment gaps of 1 to 2 months . During this period she just lived on her savings and didnt claim benifits . Eventually during covid after being made redundant in october 2020 she lived on savings and ended of being on benifits since january 2021this year and got self employed since april 2021. How does the periods of non employment affect her application in regarads to health insurance as i have heard about comprehensive health insurance requirement?

I have the exact same question as your question 1. I was employed until I received the ILR. I received the ILR in October 2020. I have been self-employed only for the last 4 months. I don't have a self assessment yet for the period that I have been self-employed. What document should I include to prove that I'm currently self-employed?

based on my experience, the employment part is not as critical for citizenship application and is more a supplementary information.

For self employment, a letter from accountant should suffice. having gaps in employment or self employment has no bearing on citizenship application as long as you are stating facts!
