When do original documents get returned? 10 days since passport delivered, no news..

Hi all, TNT delivered passport for new British passport application on 21 October 2021.
Not a peep about the supporting documents returning - no email, no SMS, no news from TNT. Its been 11 working days since the British passport arrived, but we travel to the USA in 11 working days and for that, wife needs original American passport back. Thought we would have it back by now?
What is the usual time frame for such returns and who do we contact? It's getting a little uncomfortable!
