Hi,

Following your helpful advice via this forum, I was able to successfully vary my son's application. He has now received his ILR.
I applied for British citizenship 3 months ago and I'm still awaiting a response. My husband currently has an ILR.
My question is, with regards to my son, can I apply for British citizenship for him now that he has received his ILR, whilst waiting for the response from my citizenship application or should I wait for a response before applying (Please note that my son was born abroad).

Thanks for the link. However, I still couldn't find a clear answer on whether my son (born abroad) has to wait for 1 year after ILR to apply for British Citizenship. My own Citizenship application has now been approved.

I'm unsure why you cannot find a clear answer.

Child’s future intentions - Okay.

Child’s parents’ circumstances - Okay (A parent has been approved for British citizenship. The other parent has ILR).

Residence in the UK
If he's under 13, then there is no residence requirement. Okay
If he's 13 or over, then they expect him to have resided in the UK for at least 2 years. If he has, then it's also okay.

Child’s immigration status - Okay (He has ILR).
