For the following immigration journey of family, what is the best route for Mother to apply for UK citizenship please?

2010 - Father comes on Intra-Company-Transfer Visa issued in March 2010
2014 - Get married and Mother comes to UK
2016 - Child 1 born outside UK/EU
2016 - Father gets ILR
2018 - Child 2 born in UK, gets automatic citizenship as Father has ILR
2020 - Mother and Child 1 gets ILR
2021 - Father gets UK naturalised approval email, pending ceremony
2021 - Child 1 gets UK registration approval email, pending certificate

Mother has done just over 12 months on ILR.

Mother is a home-maker so not having any employment history in the UK. She has not traveled outside UK in the last 12 months.

She may apply under Section 6(1) now or wait until father gets his Naturalisation certificate and apply under Section 6(2). Slightly different requirements. Her choice.

Thank-you.

Since the applicant is a home-maker, is it possible to ask Head Teacher from the child school to act as one of the reference and another person can be a friend from office of the husband?

Also is it possible to know which of the two routes are recommended? For information:
- Applicant was present in UK in both Jan 2017 and Jan 2019
- Applicant has been out of UK for less than 60 days only (total) in the last 5 years period

Finally, is it mandatory to have to provide reference because as a home-maker, the applicant may not have professional contacts to act as a reference
