Naturalisation application for ET

Dear All,
I'm a bit confused so any help would be highly appreciated. If someone was granted ILR after 3 years (ET visa) and he completed now 4 years in the UK (including 1 year with ILR), when he was supposed to apply for naturalisation. Is the time would be considered from the day he got his first visa or from the day he is physically in the UK.
What are the documents required for the application and how long does it in general please?
Thanks for your support and regards

To apply for citizenship, you need 5 years residence which must include 1 year in ILR.

You also need to have been physically present in the UK at the start of the 5 years.

Your visa issue date is irrelevant to a naturalisation application.

Minimal documents, covered daily on the forum and in the guidance notes.

It can take up to 6 months, sometimes longer.

Unless you are married to a British citizen, you don't qualify to apply for citizenship yet
