Registration of children as British citizens

Dear Forum members,
I'd appreciate your help with my application to register my children as British citizens. I have recently become a British citizen myself by naturalization (EEA national) and my wife has ILR (EEA national). None of us the parents have any parents / grandparents of British descend. All of my three children were born abroad and after 2003, and before I became a British citizen. They are EEA nationals and they have ILR.
I have the following questions that require clarification:
1. My eldest child has just turn 18 years of age and they study in a UK university, fully sponsored by me. I understand that they have to apply for naturalization for British citizenship as adults, using the AN form?
2. My other two children are still minors and they attend the local UK highschool, so I have to apply to register them as British Citizens with the form MN1, under the section of Home Secretary's discretion?
3. When applying to register the 2 minors as British Citizens with the form MN1, under the section of Home Secretary's discretion, I am confused as to what to answer in the question '' Provide details of your grandparent from whom your mother or father derived British citizenship by descent". Since this does not apply in our case, am I right to chose the option '' I don't know these details"?
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
Happy festive season to everyone.

Thanks Vinny,
No there is no other option. The only option you are given is the "I don't know these details", which kind of making me wonder whether I am filling the wrong type of application...

Section 3(1)
subject to discretion is correct.

When you started this application, you would have likely got options like these;
1) Your parent is British by descent and lived in the UK or a British Overseas territory for at least 3 years before you were born
2) Your parent is British by descent and you and your parents (unless they are legally separated) are now living in the UK or a British Overseas territory
3) You were born on or after 13 January 2010 and your parent was serving in the UK armed forces
4) You were adopted abroad by British citizen parents
5) You were born before 1 July 2006 to a British father and your parents were not married
6) One or both of your parents is applying for British citizenship
7) Other - apply at the discretion of the Home Secretary
What option did you select here?
Under your circumstances, you need to have selected the last option.

We, on these forums, do not have sight of the online form.
But, in that case, can you revisit the form and look at at whether you indicated how you (the parents) acquired British citizenship?
It may be (I'm guessing) that you may have indicated that one or both parents had British citizenship at their own birth. And if their birth place was abroad, the form would likely assume that they are a British citizen by descent.

It may be (I'm guessing) that you may have indicated that one or both parents had British citizenship at their own birth. And if their birth place was abroad, the form would likely assume that they are a British citizen by descent.
I have revisited the form:
Where it is asking for my nationality, as a father, I have put my nationality of birth from EU. It did not ask me whether I have become a British citizen, and I have no option to enter that I have become recently British citizen by naturalization.
Next, it's asking for the mother's details, who is not a British Citizen, she has ILR, and I enter her EU nationality and data.
After these sections about the parents, the form is asking next:
"Provide details of your grandparent from whom your mother or father derived British citizenship by descent."
The options here are either to tick the box " I do not know these details", or to continue and enter the data of the grandparent. Obviously, we do not have any grandparents with British citizenship, and hence my confusion with the form.
Do I just tick the box " I do not know these details", and continue, or this is an indication that I am using the wrong application form. Please, bear in mind that I am trying to register as British Citizens two minors with ILR, born outside UK, under the section 'at the discretion of Home Secretary'.
