Parents nationality confusion in BC

Dear Sir/Madam,
Following question need your kind help;
Applicant parents born in 1946 before partition of Pakistan, Pakistan create in 1947. Before partition it was British Indian Empire. When he put Country of birth, No British Indian Empire shows in the column except India. Can he put India or put Pakistan. After partition he got Pakistani nationality. 2nd 'Have they always had the same nationality?' Can he put Yes or No? Please see following question of BC form;

Parent One’s Details
Country of nationality Pakistan
Country of birth India
Town of birth Ludhiana
Date of birth xx December 19xx
Family name xxx
Given names Gxxxx
What is this person's relationship to you? Father
Have they always had the same nationality? Yes

There are no options to select now defunct countries/states. You would state current nationality and state that another nationality was held by parent, if there's the option, input a free-form answer. It's probably unlikely it has any impact on the application. My understanding as to why parents' details are required is to ensure that applicant is not already British through their parents. Other members may comment in more detail, especially the aspect of British India.

After partition of 1947 parents govt Pakistani nationality. Can we put 'Pakistan'???
