Delay in Confirmation received for supporting documents sent to passport office

Hey,
Does any one facing delay in reciving text / email confirmation received for supporting documents sent to passport office -Bottle -HMPO?
I had send 8 days before via secuire delivey (royal mail confirms and given POD with sign next day itself ) . But no update from Bottle -HMPO.
Is this usual delays ?
