hi,

thankfully my application was recently approved and i'm looking to apply for my passport next. the only issue that evidence required is my naturalisation certificate (which i have) and your previous passports. but i arrived in the UK as a child asylum seeker and i've never held a passport (or travel document). my question is, in replacement of a passport can i use my provisional licence instead?

thank you!

If you never had a passport or TD you should attach an explanatory note to your application. No sure that a driving licence would be acceptable as it is not a travel document - HMPO check that applicant name is the same on all travel documents. It is not compulsory to have a previous passport, many British people don't. Also try and talk to the HMPO Helpline here: https://www.gov.uk/passport-advice-line
