Applying Naturalisation through Marriage with non-UK marriage certificate
Posted: Tue Feb 15, 2022 3:15 pm
Good Afternoon,
I am preparing my documents to apply for naturalizations and could not be sure about the below points. I appreciate it if you can help.
We got married in May 2011 in Turkey, both Turkish.
I came to the UK in Feb 2012.
My husband became a citizen in Nov 2021.
I have got my ILR through a 10-year long stay route and my ILR has been granted on last month, Jan 2022.
Regards

- In this case, can I apply to naturalization immediately since I am in the UK longer than 5 years and we are also married for over 10 years
- Our marriage certificate is from Turkey, does it make any difference on applying for the "married to British Citizen" route, I will supply an English translation of the certificate as well as my husband's naturalization certificate and British passport
- When I started to fill out the online form, it didn't ask which route to apply, if it is "1 year after ILR" or "married to British Citizen". Will it be considered based on the documents I supply?
Regards
