Change of Surname Since Citizenship Certificate Issued

Hello,
I am at the stage of the process where I have been granted British citizenship. I have attended the ceremony and have received my citizenship certificate from the local council.

However while in the process of waiting for decision I have changed my surname to my husbands and got my foreign passport on new surname as well.

At this point, I have a citizenship certificate on my maiden name, and haven't applied for British passport yet.

Option 1) So, do I need to get my british citizenship certificate updated first and then apply for passport?

Option 2) Or just apply for passport and provide proof of change of surname? (like marriage certificate)

Also, anywhere I can contact to get correct information/ask all this?

Thank you.

Documents with different names cause problems when applying for a British passport.
This issue comes up regularly. I'm just aware of the issue but you should perhaps have a look through this thread: british-citizenship/passport-refused-un ... aiden-name

From my knowledge reading this forum:
1) naturalisation certificate is never updated.
2) HMPO may refuse your application as names don't match.

In hindsight you should have abtained a passport in your maiden name, and then changed your name.
Have you contacted the HMPO Helpline? https://www.gov.uk/passport-advice-line
