Hi,

Please can someone advise me.

My 17 years old daughter was granted ILE July 2021, she move to the UK in Sep 2021, i have sole responsibility for her. My questions is this:

Can i register her as a British citizen before she turns 18?

She have been in the UK for 7 months in the UK.

Her future intentions and plans are in the UK.

Is there any possibilities that with her short residence in UK, that she will granted citizenship via registration?

Thanking you in the advance.

Children 13 and older require and are expected to have 2 years residence before they can apply for citizenship.

Registration as British citizen: children caseworker guidance wrote:(Page 30)Where a child was aged 16 or over when they arrived in the UK, you should normally refuse an application to register them as they will have had too short a period to establish personal connections with this country at a time when their future plans are unclear.
