Professional Referee is not British and has moved back to the UK recently

Hi everyone,

I have a question. My previous manager has agreed to sign my professional reference . I have not been working at my current workplace for longer than three years yet, so I cannot ask them for a reference.

My question is this. I met him when we were both working in the UK, he is currently working in the UK, but there were points in the past three years when he has been living abroad. Listing his old addresses for the past three years is a requirement, are there any rules about this at all? It's not clear to me if he must have been living in the UK for the past three years and I could not find a clear answer to this.

Thanks,
Lori

As long as your previous manager qualifies as a professional referee there are no rules that oblige him to have lived in the UK for the past 3 years only to have known you personally for more than 3 years.
