UK Naturalisation for Irish National

Hi

I've lived in the UK for more than 20 years and was wondering what the path to UK citizenship is? I am pursuing UK citizenship in order to expedite my partners naturalisation - he will be eligible for Settled Status in October this year - and should I pursue UK naturalisation that places him on the 3 year route meaning he could apply for UK naturalisation soon after he obtains settled status.

I've googled around and there is no clear route for an Irish national.

Any help would be great!

Refer to this document (official guidance) and search for "Irish" and see page 20:

Thanks for the info @alterhase58 - having reviewed the document it doesn't really cover the path for an Irish national to take except for saying that Irish Nationals do not need to apply for settled status as their rights are entrenched, which is all good and well - but doesn't quite address our requirement.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

What exactly do you want to know?
You're considered settled since the day you arrive, so if you have 5 years of residence that you can prove and satisfy other requirements eg passing LitUK test, you can apply.
