I had my naturalisation application approved recently.
Looking at the list of referee requirement for 1st British passport, one of the eligible person is
Engineer with professional qualification.

Can my friend who works as a software engineer in 250+ Workforce in VAT registered company be okay? He has a BSc Computer Science degree from UK university.

Engineer refers to an engineer registered with a professional regulatory body such as an electrical, mechanical or civil engineer.

For passport applications, the referee must also be British.
