Naturalisation ceremony: is home office atlas email needed?

Hello,

I received an invitation from my council (Islington) to book a ceremony on Monday. However, there has been no home.office.atlas email (3 days later now). The council asks to bring that email to the ceremony.
Is it common to not have received the home office email?
Can it cause a problem at the ceremony?

Thanks!

I came to ask the same question for a friend who has a similar situation. Did it cause you any problem when you have been to the ceremony?

Approval mails are mostly sent on Mondays now. Hope you got it the next Monday.

Yeah we received invitations from the council on a Monday morning as well, as if they replaced the HO letter.

Our ceremony is scheduled for next Monday; I’ll post here with the result.
I hope they ask for that letter only to check the application number that I can find elsewhere, but we’ll see.

No one asked us anything except for IDs; they checked the name and DOB against the certificate.
However, when I was registering for the ceremony, I let them know the 16-digit application ID as well, so they may have checked it in advance. If your council does not ask for it upon registration, find it for the ceremony.

This is true for my council (Islington), they may be more pedantic elsewhere.

One side effect of this is that we were never asked to return the BRPs. Not sure if I should do it and how.

You return the brp cards after your ceremony. You should have received the details of what to in your ceremony pack.

Nope. In the pack, there is a letter from Priti without much substance in it, a guidance on getting a passport, and info on care about the certificate dual citizenship. Nothing about BRPs.
