Has anyone needed a passport interview after using the IDV app for naturalisation?

I used the IDV app to upload documents (by invitation) when I applied for naturalisation. So I didn't have to attend a biometrics appointment.

Now that I'm applying for my British passport, I wonder if I'll need to a passport interview to confirm identity? I'm asking mainly to estimate how long the passport application might take--hopefully it is faster if no interview is required.

Does anyone else who used the IDV app have experience with this?

Thanks!

The IDV app for naturalisation applications has absolutely nothing to do with HMPO process and checks for passports.

Interview are rare and if you require one, there should be no delay in booking one.

Passports are currently taking around 8 to 10 weeks.

Thanks for your response.

The reason the IDV app is relevant is that UKVI didn't collect my latest biometrics when I applied for naturalisation. So I wonder if HMPO will be satisfied with the older biometrics from UKVI, or will they want fresh biometrics or a passport interview.

IDV is specific to immigration and nationality applications. It is not relevant to HMPO (a different department to UKVI) and passport applications.

Note that the passport interview, if required, is not to check your identity or biometrics against a foreign passport. It is a series of questions related to the passport applicant asked in the interview.
