Register child as British or visa extension/ILR first?

Hello everyone,
Can you please provide your advice on the below issue?
I have got ILR after my child was born in the UK, and my husband is still on tier 2 dependent visa.
My child has also got tier 2 dependent visa and is due to expire next month. She has not completed 5 years yet, so won’t be eligible for ILR.
So, I have couple of q’s if you could help clarify please?
Should I apply for her tier 2 dependent visa extension to cover remaining period before she is eligible for ILR?
Or Can I straightaway apply to register her as a British citizen (via the MN1 form) and apply for British passport i.e there is no need to get visa extension or get ILR first?
Also, I read there is a rule that a child should not have stayed more than 90 days outside UK in each year from the time child was born in the UK. Is this a "must have" requirement? Actually my child has stayed outside UK for more than 90 days in 1 year, so what can be done in this case?
Thanks.
