Registering my child

Hi
My husband got ILR status after my baby was born this year and we are applying to register the baby as British citizen.
The application is asking for baby’s passport or any travel document but she don’t have any. Does baby’s birth certificate count as an identity document to apply for registration?
Also any idea how much time does it take nowadays for the certificate to come through?

As full birth certificate is the only ID type available use that. Passports are not compulsory.
Follow the MN1 timelines on top of the forum home page:

Thank you @alterhase58.
I’m on the final stages of completing the application. It’s asking us to sign the verification checks consent form to verify information. Is this a mandatory form to fill and is it enough for the dad to sign this?
Thanks

One required for each applicant - these are for data consent and don't form part of the statutory requirements for naturalisation or registration. Clearly Dad can sign one for the child.

@alterhase58 one of the referee is saying that they need to sign over the child’s photo on the referee form. It doesn’t say anywhere like that on the form but she has done it like that for somebody before. Do you know whether it’s an accurate information? Kindly help.

You mean across the front or the back?
Not required - she may have signed a passport photograph for which I think it's required to sign the back.
