Hi

Planing to apply for British Citizenship on 30 of July 2022; but I am not sure what is the impact of a driving offence happened two years ago :driving without insurance (had 6 points on driving licence and a fine was paid) on the citizenship application.

NO other issues at all, only this offence.

I would be grateful for any help with this

Thank you

Can you confirm if this was issued by the magistrates court?

Hi Amber

Thank you for your response.

A plea letter was sent from the Police with three options:

1.guilty (I do not want to attend the court)
2.guilty (I want to attend the court)
3.Not guilty (Send me the date of my trail)

Number 1 was chosen, and a fine was paid.

On the driving licence summary:

Offence details:
IN10
Penality points: 6
Fine: 120

Court/Fixed Penalty Office

2905

Ok then you have a conviction, and you will be expected to wait until at least 3 years has lapsed.

Thank you so much, Amber..

On Driving licence Summary :

Offence dates:

Offence date: 15 Jan 2020
Expiry date: 15 Jan 2023
Removal Date :15 Jan 2024

This means: applying and paying the fees after 15 Jan 2023, is that correct?

Is it OK to apply two months before Jan 2023, for example in Nov 2022, so when the Home Office start to consider the application, the 3 years will lapse by the time of considering the application ?
