I am (along with my wife and kid) applying for British Citizenship. I have following two open queries; hope some one in this board can guide please.

1. I am full time employee (PAYE) since 2013 and still continuing. Alongside, I have founded a small business in November 2021, which is currently trading. I am the sole director of this Limited company. I am yet to do the tax filing of the company as I still have some time left to do so for FY2021-22.

Currently, in the online application form under 'Employment details / Type of employment' I have selected 'Employee'. Do I need to select 'A Director' as well? If I do so, I will not be able to provide any corresponding documents e.g. company tax filing etc as it is not filed yet.

2. This is a joint application including my wife and kid. For some reason, if one of the application is refused, does that disqualify the other two applications as well?

I tried to search this forum before posting this for similar use case however, could not find any. If I missed any post that clarifies these queries, please feel free to point me to that. Thanks in advance.

1. If the Companies house shows you as a director for that company, you should declare it being director. If the self assessment is not due then its okay.

2. Your outcome won't affect your wife's application, but you should tick the check box (online application) if you like your child to be registered as British citizen even your citizenship is refused, then it won't affect for your child too.

Best call is always to answer truthfully. Either put only your full time employment, or put both; but in any case, best would be to include a cover letter explaining your situation. You have not broken any laws, so it will all be good.

As long as each applicant is eligible on their own merits, one application being refused should not have an impact on the other.

Now, if the reason of refusal is a mistake or inconsistency in the application form, that is also present in the others; a refusal on one will probably predict a refusal on the others. But the refusal itself won't be the reason for refusal of the others (rather, the mistake that was consistently made across applications).
