Hi all,

Thank you for the helpful and informative forum. Apologies if the below have been answered already but wanted to ensure I have the current info please:

1. I got my ILR (after 5 years of working in the UK) on 22 August 2021. Strictly speaking, 12 months comes to 23 August 2022 so I was planning to submit my naturalisation application (ILR + 12 months) on 23 August 2022. Is it okay to submit on the same day that the 12 months are up or should I wait for a day or two just to be safe?
2. I have started my online application on the GOV.UK website but won't submit until I meet the ILR +12 month, requirement. I believe it is okay to start the application earlier and gather required info as long as you dont submit when you meet the timeline requirememt. Please correct me if I am wrong
3. On the application form, there is a question on if you have "made any previous UK immigration aplications in the UK of abroad". Under this question, they ask you if your fingerprints were taken. To be honest, other than the ILR application where I know finger prints were taken, I dont remember if my other application for UK visas required finger prints, therefore I can not comfirm for sure if my fingerprints were taken. Should I take the concervative approach and say "No"?
4. For the two referees, there are two forms that can be downloaded. Here, I understand that I would need to attach my photo then ask the referees to sign and date the respective forms. Anything else I would need from the referees please?
5. For the passports - Can I confirm that we ONLY need scanned copies of stamped pages of passsports that we have held for the qualifying period? i.e. you dont need a scan for every page in the passport including empty pages?
6. At the end of the application when it comes to uploading documents, can I upload the scanned copies of all the docs needed? I.e. Will I need to have the docs scanned at the appointment centre where I will do the bioemetrics? essentially I want to understand whether I can do all the scan and uploading myself and if so, what documents would I need to take with me to the biometrics centre?

Many thanks in advance,

You can submit it on or after 22 August 2022

Yes, you can start anytime but it must be submitted on or after 22 August 2022

3. On the application form, there is a question on if you have "made any previous UK immigration aplications in the UK of abroad". Under this question, they ask you if your fingerprints were taken. Most of the applicants would have had biometrics taken.. if you don't remember. Add a cover letter explaining the same

4. For the two referees, there are two forms that can be downloaded. Here, I understand that I would need to attach my photo then ask the referees to sign and date the respective forms. Anything else I would need from the referees please?

You would also need their contact details and addresses for the last 3 years to fill in the online application

5. For the passports - Can I confirm that we ONLY need scanned copies of stamped pages of passsports that we have held for the qualifying period? i.e. you dont need a scan for every page in the passport including empty pages?

All pages for all passports including empty pages used to enter/ exit the UK during the qualifying period.

All scanned copies. You can do it yourself on ukvcas portal/ IDV app after submitting the application.
