Hi folks
I have a first degree of Literature & English Language degree in 1996 from a University in Tunisia.
Can this be used as proof of English proficiency for citizenship application when translated and verified.
U have only the certificate copy - no grades in each module or anything else
Thank you

You cannot use it. You should get confirmation from
ECCTIS that your qualification is equivalent to a UK degree which can be used for your English language requirement

It may be simpler (and maybe cheaper) to just take a B1 test - the fee for certifying a foreign degree taught in English used to be the same as the test fee. B1 test is only 10 minutes speaking/listening exercise £150.

This.
If the country of instruction is not a majority-speaking English one, you need an official letter or statement confirming the degree was exclusively taught in English. My partner's degree is from a Danish university in 2002. I tried contacting the university on three occasions to try and get this certificate with no luck (I can't imagine trying a Tunisian University for a 1996 degree).
Then I gave up, as I realized the cost of the certification of a foreign degree and probably the fee the University would charge on top to issue the official certificate, would mean it would be cheaper, faster, and more straightforward to just have him sit the B1 test.
Seriously consider it.
