Who should fill out & sign the family consent form to upload for child's MN1 citizenship regsitration application?

I have submitted an MN1 form online (and paid the fees of £1012) for registering my UK-born child as a British citizen. I am the child's father, and have obtained ILR status in the UK recently.

My question is on the family consent forms to upload. Part 1 of the form is titled Consent for the Home Office to verify application information. In the online MN1 application form declaration, I have stated "I am the applicant" i.e. the child is the applicant, right (even though the parent filled out & submitted the the MN1 application)?

1. So, who should fill out and sign the part 1 of the family consent form? Is it both the parents?
2. Are parts 2 & 3 of the family consent form relevant?

Appreciate the moderator's quick response since my child's biometrics is at 12:00 noon today 02 Sep 2022 (I got a sudden free slot when I logged in & checked at the UKVCAS portal today). The signed family consent must be uploaded before the biometric appointment.

If MN1 registration approved while abroad, is it possible to return to UK with current foreign passport+dependent visa?

After recently obtaining ILR, I have just now submitted an MN1 application for registering my UK born child as a British citizen. Concurrently, I have also submitted a dependent visa for the child (as a dependent of my former visa category which led to my ILR).

The child has an Indian passport, and is scheduled to travel to India in early November 2022, with return to UK planned in early March 2023. We expect to receive the child's dependent visa before the trip begins (i.e. within ~9 weeks from now). Given that MN1 approval can take anywhere between 2 to 6 months, it is quite possible that the citizenship registration certificate is obtained during the trip, i.e. whilst the child is in India.

In this scenario of MN1 approval whilst abroad:
  • Can the child use their current Indian passport + dependent visa BRP to return to the UK?
  • Is travel on such a dependent visa acceptable for those registered as British citizens, but those who have not yet obtained a British passport?

Yes

If you're already out there, it's OK. If in country at the time child receives naturalisation cert. You're expected to cut the BRP in 4 and return to HO immediately.
