Referee

Hello,

I am currently doing my application for BC and had a question about the professional referee.

Am I able to use my girlfriend's sister in law as a referee? She is RN so that is on the list. (My girlfriend and I live together with her parents, her sister in law is her brother's wife).

If I can't use her, I was thinking of using my former social worker. She was my case worker over 10 years ago for my asylum case, however we have remained in contact since then.

(For the second referee, who doesn't need to be a professional, just over 25, I was going to use a friend!)

Would be greatful to hear any advice!

She becomes a relative when you're married. Right now, you're just friends.

Thank you for your replies!

I have another query about the documents required. I have submitted my application and have been asked to provide the following:
1) Passport/s issued by home country (I am non EU/EEA) (I renewed my passport last year so will provide both passports).
2) Proof of living in the UK for the last 5 years
3) Degree certificate to prove English language
4) Two referee declaration forms
And obviously the consent form.

I do not have a BRP - I recieved my indefinite leave before BRP were issued. I have an appointment in Birmingham in two weeks to submit my biometrics and have also purchased the document scanning extra.

My question is for no.2, proof of living in the UK. From reading other forum posts, I would need to provide my passports covering the past 5 years? However I have not left the UK in over 5 years, the last time my passport was stamped was when I last left the country on 14th September 2017 (exit) and 17th September 2017 (entry). Would this be sufficient as the proof of living in the UK as it is clear from my passports I have not left the UK in over 5 years?

Is there also any other documentation that I have missed out in my list?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, your passport is enough. for 2). I assume your degree was taught in the UK? If not you will need a letter from ECCTIS.

Advisable with all the pages of the passport that contains it.
