Get original documents back in emergency

Hi all,
I submitted my application on 2/9 and they received my original documents on 5/9. However, my mother-in-law just sadly passed away last night and I do really want to get my original documents back to travel. From what I understand that they should have already scanned and uploaded my documents onto their system, so I'm wondering if there is any way fast that I can get my original documents back in this situation.
I called their helpline and they suggested sending a letter with an envelope to Bootle office where I sent my document originally. I believe this will be a lengthy process and not really useful.
Can I anyone having experience in this case help?
Thanks

How do you plan on re-entering the country if and when you do travel out?

With the naturalisation certificate, it's possible to enter UK. I think someone has mentioned this in another post.

Yes, but it won't be enough to get on a plane abroad to fly to the uk.

Further to CR001, don't read and assume that all cases you read are the same. What works for Tom wouldn't work for Jack.
It all depends on what country you're from. Does your country of origin allow visa free travel to the UK?

If not, you're obviously free to travel out, but there's a tidal wave of problems awaiting you when you try to come back.
