Can I fly out for a few days on the day I submit my application?

Hello!

I'm aware that on the day you submit your application you had to be in the UK on that same day 5 years before.

But I was wondering if it's ok to fly out of the UK on the day you submit the application?

Not on the same day 5 years ago, but on the same day 5 years ago+1 day. See this post.

I would not do it, purely because I had a similar dilemma regarding the previous point. Can you travel in/out of the UK on the same day (+1 day), 5 years before? Answer to that, according to two separate immigration advisers I consulted was no, you have to have been present for the 24 hours of the day, partial presence doesn't count.

It would make sense the same principle applies, because the reason you need to be present in the UK is that if you aren't then you just started another batch of absences for which you don't have a return date yet, so it is impossible to quantify. And a requirement of the application is to be able to quantify your absences.

If you mean to travel out of the UK after you submit your application. I don't see any reason why not as British Citizenship isn't an immigration application. You need to be ready to come back for your biometrics though!
