English test as a UK university student

Hello,

Apologies if this has been answered before but I can't find an answer in the forums.

I will be applying for my British citizenship soon but not clear on the English test requirements. I am currently an MBA student at a UK university (not yet graduated) and not sure if this exempts me from doing the English test as the exemption around degrees is quite vague.

Has anyone had any experience or maybenoffer some clarification?

Many thanks 😊

Being a student per se, even at an English university, does not exempt you from the English language requirement without the degree.

Agree with @contorted_svy.

You need to have completed a degree course at a university in the UK and have been awarded the degree in order to use that for the English language test.

How did you meet the English language test requirements to secure your MBA university admission?

There were no English test requirements for the MBA. I was recruited by the University based on my professional experience and entrepreneurial background. I am also a native English speaker and have had my indefinite leave to remain for the last 2 decades or so. Before my MBA the highest academic qualification was UK A levels.

You are a citizen of a country where English is the first language?

Whats your country of current nationality?
Can you check that your country of origin is exempt from English language requirements.

As not on exempt list and MBA not completed yet, neet the requirement by passing English Test at Level B1 cost about £150.
