21 PCNs in 1 month for ULEZ

Hi

I am due for citizenship now In April - May 2022, I have received 21 PCN for going into ULEZ. I did some payments but then thought I have set up the automatic payment system, buy it was not set up. The PCNs kept going to my old address.
I have paid 12 of them now.
Have sent Statoury Declaration for the rest of the 9s. I intend to pay every fine.

What to do? declare these! There are so many! I have read in the guideline if there are many firms over a small period of time, it terms as not a very good character.
Please guide!

Because they are Penalty Charge Notices and not Fixed Penalty Notices the good character requirement doesn't possibly cover these, though I am absolutely no expert. Maybe a more senior member knows. I would make sure they are all paid before applying, just in case.

PCNs don't need to be declared as they don't necessarily relate with the good character requirement. If you have penalty charges, or court orders against you, these must necessarily be declared. However, too many PCNs in a short period of time can be seen as an indication of careless behavior.

My advise would be to declare this and explain it in a cover letter. A decently worded explanatory cover letter can go a long way in explaining your position to the case officer. What you DON'T want to do is the case worker finding this out on their own, and ASSUMING you withheld important information - that will surely result in a rejection.

If I were you, I would declare all the PCNs, and explain in a cover letter that this was a one-off issue caused by an error in setting up auto pay, and that you have paid x number of fines already and intend to settle the remaining promptly. If there has been any discussion with the authorities regarding settling these PCNs in a piecemeal manner / there is a payment plan in place, it would be really good to attach that too as support - this will demonstrate you have proactively engaged with the authorities to sort this out and not evading the fines!

Good luck!

CCJ appeared on Credit file after I sent my citizenship application

Hi guys
So, on the 5th October 2022 I sent my naturalization application. And on the 12th I saw a CCJ on my credit history. It was dated for the 10th October 2022. I had no clue where it came from.
I called the court and came to know that this CCJ is for my current residence parking. When I initially moved here, he had no parking permit. Anyways, I ignored all the penalties (4) and went ahead with my life, only to be be informed that all the paper work was going to my old address. I didn't update the V5 until recently.

Now I have to inform the HO about this new CCJ.
What should I do?
1) Apply N244 for setting aside the CCJ as I have strong grounds and fight for the penalties (£900)? Will that be fine with the HO that I am dealing with these?
2) pay the £900 and inform the HO?

Thank you

The choice is yours how to deal with the CCJ.
Contact UKVI to explain the situation, outlining what your course of action is, option 1 or 2. A CCJ as such is not an issue unless you are a serial defaulter. The main thing is to address this and show that you are dealing with it and comply with any agreements you have/will make. If you haven't had your biometrics yet you may still be able to upload a covering note together with any CCJ related documents you have. If not send an email with your details to one of these email addresses: british-citizenship/nationality-enquire ... l#p2093594

Whatever you end up doing, do inform UKVI that you became aware of this after you applied. Be mindful if you choose to fight the, that if you were found guilty it would not help your application (I don't know if it would slow it down until a decision is taken in court).

Until the 9th of October 2022, my credit rating was excellent. 98/100, all bills paid, no debt, no default...
In the last 10 years I had no CCJ. One PCN for litter that I declared. This is something that came after I applied. Can HO still wait (if it wants to) for this whole case to settle?

Good Character Guidance: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... racter.pdf

Quote from page 37:
"An application will not normally be refused simply because the person is in debt,
especially if loan repayments have been made as agreed or if acceptable efforts are
being made to pay off accumulated debts.
However, where a person deliberately and recklessly builds up debts and there is no
evidence of a serious intention to pay them off, the application will normally be
refused. "

Perhaps there's a bit of overthinking here. As long as you explain your situation, the steps you are taking, your unblemished credit history, etc, it is unlikely that your application will be refused due to a CCJ dispute (I have not seen a report here citing a CCJ as reason for refusal). UKVI don't normally hold an application for outstanding items to be resolved by applicant. Clearly if you feel not comfortable submitting with the CCJ pending you can always wait until it is resolved.
