Referee questions

Hello,

I will soon apply for naturalisation and I have two questions for referees:

1. For professional standing referee, is it mandatory that this person is British or lives in the UK? If I were to get recommendation from my teacher from my home country, would that be ok?

2. What documents do I need to provide for this referee to prove that they are teacher/accountant/director/etc?

3. Can professional referee be a professor from British university?

4. Can second referee (British citizen older than 25) be naturalised?

Thanks!

Hello,

1. For professional standing referee, is it mandatory that this person is British or lives in the UK? If I were to get recommendation from my teacher from my home country, would that be ok? not sure .... note the referee declaration is not a recommendation, referee declares they know you and are able to act as referee.

2. What documents do I need to provide for this referee to prove that they are teacher/accountant/director/etc? No proof required

3. Can professional referee be a professor from British university? Cant find this one on the list of acceptable professions - see page 25 - https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... ionals.pdf

4. Can second referee (British citizen older than 25) be naturalised? Yes, they are British, like you want to be, there's no distinction based on the pathway to citizenship.

Thanks!
