Hi everyone,

Would be grateful for any advice, opinions or experience regarding my issue.

I submitted my British citizenship application last night and today was my biometrics. On the online application I did not write my middle name just first and surname. All my I.Ds have my middle names and most documents I submitted too. To be honest, I did not even realise until the man at my biometrics said why is your middle name not on your application? And then he added it himself. So now on UKVCAS I see my middle name but I doubt that means the online application now has my middle on it too.

I am just worried that they will refuse or it will delay things.

Any experiences or information regarding such issue will ease my mind a little. I do not think I can upload anymore documents on UKVCAS otherwise Id write a letter and way it was an honest mistake.

Ok guys….just realised… I also forgot to add applicant name on the referee declaration forms?

…..Im pretty sure It will be a rejection. Is there anyway to upload more documents after biometrics?

These are not grounds for refusal .... though can be an issue if your name on the cert. is different from your name on your passport. Upload after biometrics is not available.

Write a note explaining, with all your details, ref number, etc and send to one or all of these email addresses:

UKIV will write to you to clarify and confirm etc. Same happened to me when I registered my daughter, I forgot to put her middle name and they wrote to me even though they had all her identity evidence.

Thank you! Emailed both FurtherNationalityEnquiries and the NationalitySupportTeamFMT:

- BRP
- letter explaining/confirming middle name omission and referee declaration forms and apology
- Original application
- correct referee forms

Received automatic responses that they will deal with my enquiry 14-20 working days.

Thanks guy! Honestly I am so used to writing my first name and surname…don’t really write middle name unless asked.

Oh that puts me at ease a little bit. I have sent them an email with a signed letter explaining that it was an genuine omission and to accept the letter as confirmation of my full name.

Hopefully they wont contact me and app wont be delayed. The thing is, the man at the biometrics said he added my middle name before submitting…and on the UKVCAS I can see the change. But would that change be reflected on the application I completed before paying? I’m not sure that is why I decided to write the letter as I really don’t want a delay…

Will update the situation as it happens so others fan benefit from the knowledge.

I mean at first I was like woooah a human has answered email then I saw the coronavirus pandemic and was like my goodness they havent even change pandemic reason to Ukraine war…
