UK born child for ILR Parent, Do I need to register British Citizenship before applying passport

Hi There,
I am very confused while applying for a passport for my UK born child. Both Myself and my wife are in ILR when she was born which means as per the guidance, we don't need to register as British Citizen
is my understanding correct ? if 'No' which form I should use to register her Citizenship?
from the Gov site ,
If your parents were not British, Irish, EU or EEA citizens when you were born
You’re a British citizen automatically if when you were born at least one of your parents was living in the UK and had any of the following:
indefinite leave to remain (ILR)
If 'Yes' , I believe , we must apply for British Passport directly ?
Actually I was doing the same , but unfortunately when I am selecting the Option that I don't have British Passport, system was asking the details of Grand Parents and their Birth and Marriage certificate which I don't have it.
Could you please help me and guide us what should I do ?
Thanks,
Jiju.
