Hi all,

I applied for British citizenship in July 2022. It has been more than 7 months & I haven't heard anything at all. Any guidance what to do, no response from their email addresses.

Lodge complaints, contact MP.

I applied about a year ago and still waiting. Contact MP, lodged complaint etc but it seems to land on deaf ears.

More than 8 months for me. Escalated through MP, but got standard response. No other way to escalate. Keep waiting fingers crossed 🤞 🔀

I would suggest write a letter to

Home Office
Direct Communication
2 Marsham Street
London
SW1P 4DF

This is UKVI head office and many time I have observed myself once the matter escalated to them people received response within 4 weeks.

Giving them all case information and show your grieve as well.

Taking time to decide the application not within time or so is not good. We are paying them so they should regard us.

Did any one of you had declared traffic offences?
I had one speeding ticket (paid ontime) and speed awareness course. Not sure that was reason for delay?

People with no known minutest of offences get delays in their application decision. Your declared traffic offence shouldn't be a reason, timeline threads filled with reports of delays.
Patience.

9 months good. Only standard response undergoing checks.

I have applied for police check to see any issues. How can I get SAR information from homeoffice?

What is score with Sar requests, did people get back information within 20 days or is it the same like naturalisation time frame?

I was reading through it and it looks they also have pre-emotive the line saying that sometimes it’s not possible to provide information inn20 days and have listed procedure of complaint.

Wishful thinking I suppose.

I had a response from xxxxxx today , saying that he has forwarded my email to appropriate team for their consideration and they will get back to me direct.

I wonder what is that ‘appropriate team’.

Well, I’m pleased to report today that my response have come through after 14 months and 9 days after application submission.

Did not get a reply from home office but an email from local council who already have booked me a date for certificate.

Best of luck to all still waiting and I hope you get your response soon.

Yes mate, I did, and it showed that my application possibly wasn’t assigned to anyone until 29/12/2022.

I pretty much did everything that is listed on this forum,

1: Email to all the email addresses that I found online.
2: Submitted a SAR request
3: Asked MP to chase.
4: Asked MP to ledge my complaint to parliamentary ombudsman, (they turned out to be useless though as they did not want to look at my complaint until I get a response from home office)
5: Lodged complaint through gov website.
6: Sent letters to Nationality team in Liverpool.
7: Emailed Home Secretary direct.
8: Emailed shadow Home Secretary.

I don’t think any of the above worked but it helped to get over frustration caused by delay.

I submitted request on 07/02/2023 and got a response back on 07/03/2023. Precisely on 20th working day of the request. I think legally they are obliged to respond to each request within 20 working day.
