I received email from council on 30th March 2023 inviting me to book citizenship ceremony, however i have yet not received any email or letter from the home office regarding approval or invitation for ceremony. I understand that I need to produce this letter to the council at the time of ceremony. I am now worried about why i have not received any communication from the home office. Any idea if anyone is on the same boat and whether people are receiving letter or email from home office nowadays and what is the delay time here after council invitiation.

There’s been lots of posts on the subject. Most people get the email a few days later. Though some never got one but we’re still booked in and received ther certificates. Which is the important document. The approval advise doesn’t have force of law unlike the certificate.

My council does citizenship ceremony on appointment basis and not in group. Since it is a personal appointment, I think they would ask for the letter/email from home office based on the leaflet they sent me.

Of course they have your certificate which means you are approved. Certainly you must bring ID. But talk to your council to check.
