Naturalisation processing + document submission

Hi all,
I am new here so I hope this is the right place to post.
I have submitted my application and the documents for the naturalisation (05.04.2023), waiting for my biometrics appointment (24.04.2023).
I have a few questions if anyone can help.
1. Does anyone know when the clock starts in terms of processing my application - on application/documents submission or when the biometrics are taken?
2. Does the application/ documents get assigned or is anyone even looking at it before the biometrics?
3. I realised I forgot to make sure the "applicant name" is on the referee declarations. The declarations were also more than 1 year old. So I am in the process of getting them resigned etc and hope I can re-submitting these before my biometrics appointment. Will this be ok?
Thank you

Once your biometrics have been enrolled.

No.

Thanks a lot!
It's interesting as some (best case scenarios) people get approvals in 7 weeks from biometrics, but maybe 8-9 from the application so was wondering if anything was being done ahead of the biometrics.

I have one more question if you don't mind.
My passport expires in May 18th and I have applied for a new one.
My biometrics appointment is on April 24th.
I submitted the application with my current passport which is about to expire.
I'm not sure if the new passport will be ready by my biometrics appointment.
Does it matter and is there anything I should do?
Thanks a million
